The climate is extremely favourable for ripening grapes, as the Ore Mountains hold out against the cold air currents and the Mures River balances the temperature fluctuations, ensuring the best conditions. The moderate summer weather prevents the acids and flavours from burning into the grapes, leaving the clusters to become silky.
The average annual temperature is 9.0°C. Rainfall does not exceed 500-650 mm on average. May and June are the months with the most precipitation, and February is the month with the least moisture. September and October are generally rain-free months, a favourable condition for ripening grapes.
